A key distinction: Fort Niagara and Fort Niagara State Park are within the Town of Porter, with the Village of Youngstown as the nearest incorporated community, but the fort itself is not inside the village's boundaries. The shoreline tourism and heritage economy contrasts with an agricultural interior around Ransomville, where local farms are a defining land use, and comparables from the waterfront tourism zone do not translate to the agricultural interior.
